Beijing Nanshan Ski Resort
Beijing Nanshan Ski Resort lies in the south of Miyun County, 62 km from Siyuan Bridge, Beijing. It occupies a total area of more than 4000 mu. The resort is open during all four seasons and offers activities such as skiing, water skiing, grass skiing, sliding and gliding. In the picturesque resort, visitors have the chance to ski in the winter, hike in the spring, swim in the summer and fruit-pick in the autumn. Suitable for all seasons, these activities focus on sports while giving consideration to sightseeing at the same time. Mobility is perfectly blended with tranquility here.
This skiing resort is the largest of its kind in North China alongside having the most advanced facilities. At present this skiing resort boasts 12 trails for beginners, intermediate and advanced skiers and NOKIA Nanshan Mellow Park (the first snowboarding park) which was designed and built by Mellow construction Austria (famous for Roxy Chicken Jam etc.). There are halfpipes, rails, boxes, wallrides, China’s first mogul advanced trail and a snowmobile route for children. It is equipped with a hi-tech snowmaking system and 12 snowmaking machines, 2 snow groomers introduced from Austria, a quadruple chair lift, a double chair lift, 11 drag lifts for beginners, and a seasonal toboggan run (1,318 meters-long). There are also ‘snow amusements’ such as the cable hang-glider and snow sledges from Canada, amongst others.
The skiing school at the resort boasts more than 70 excellent instructors. The snowboard school uses the ‘LTR’ system which was introduced from Burton, USA. The cooperation partner of Austria Snowboard Association (ASA)?Austria-China Snowboard Educational Institution, helped establish Nanshan International Snowboarding School, which in turn is led by an international skiing instructor from Austria.
If you’re looking to stay somewhere romantic in the ski resort, the Shirton Villas, located nearby the Rimbaud Pond, are the best option. There are a total of 24 double rooms all equipped with a fireplace. Near the mountain, two Norwegian Villas equipped with living rooms, terraces and kitchens are the best choice for families.
At the mountainside, Terrace Restaurant & Pub offers western food, coffee and beer. You can also dine at Nanshan Restaurant, Dahuatang Chinese (northeastern style restaurant) and the Hot Snack Bar which offers Chinese food and snacks. On the top of the mountain, Lavenders Mini Tea Bar supplies tea and coffee.
With a total construction area of 6000 square meters, the two Ski Rental Halls for group and individual ski purposes have more than 5000 sets of skiing equipment. Nanshan VIP Skiing Club - the first in the country to have a separate lodging house - is located in the resort and easy ski out/ski in access is provided from the top of the lodging house to the skiing terrain. From the cafeteria with glass French windows, one can gaze at the snow-capped mountains. The Club offers a unique leisure and recreation experience in winter days.
Nanshan Ski Resort is operated and managed by domestic and international professionals with extensive experience in tourism and skiing. They are the first in the country who introduced colour classification codes for trails and markers, which meet international standard, offering a safe and comfortable service to skiing-lovers.
