Luhuadang Park is located on the northeast side of Mt. Zhonghua in the Mount Mogan and is considered as one of the top resorts in China. It is best known as a hiking and relaxation area with guesthouses where people can rent rooms in well-built Western-style buildings. The buildings were built when the area was as a foreign enclave before 1948. The area is dotted with European-style villas that have been turned into guesthouses. The best thing for foreigners is that there are pine and bamboo forests and interesting natural features like rock formations that you can hike along with both Chinese-style paved footpaths and stairs, and dirt paths cut through the vegetation.
Once there was a temple named Jinzhong Temple (Golden Clock Temple). In old times, many splendid ceremonies for the monks took place here, therefore it is also called the Hall of Gong and Drum. After the temple was destroyed, reed flowers grew all around the temple. People renamed it as Luhuadang (Reed Flower) park.
The park has a round gate and an oval shaped pool, giving the park a leisurely feel. Luhuadang Park is arguably the most famous scenic spot in Moganshan and possibly in Hanghzou. The cool, chilling breeze on hot days refreshes and cools the many visitors. The park has many features and attractions and makes for a great day out.
