The construction space with the span of up to 71 meters is pillar-less, much to its grandeur. Above the entrance of the door, there is a plaque that bears the words in gold "Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall" inscribed by Liao Chengzhi, the vice chairman of the standing Committee of the National People's Congress. The statue of Sun Yat-sen in front of the hall was cast with bronze for a change. The square and the surroundings have also been further beautified.
Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is the most symbolic building of Guangzhou, and also a key venue for the city's large-scale meetings and performances.
