Shandong Province is situated in the eastern
coastal region of China on the lower reaches of
the Yellow River. With the ever expending port of
Qingdao this is a very important region in the
economic devolvement of China being just 300
miles from Beijing. The province has a total area of
156,000 square kilometres (about 60,235 square
miles) and a total population of over 90 million
and has many cultural and tourist attraction.
Jinan
Jinan is the Capital city of Shandong Province, and
has many beautiful scenic spots, among which
Baotu Spring is probably the most famous and
together with Daming Lake has been gathering
place of Chinese celebrities over the years.
Mount Tai
The sacred Mount Tai was the centre of an imperial
cult for nearly 2,000 years, and still to this day is
revered by the Chinese for its natural landscape. It
has always been a source of inspiration for Chinese
artists and scholars and symbolizes ancient Chinese
civilizations and beliefs. It is located in the middle
of Shandong province and covers an area of 400 square kilometres.
Qufu
Qufu – hometown of Confucius (551–479BC),
and a town barely changed in 500 years. In China,
Confucian ideology was given imperial status in
the Han Dynasty and subsequent Emperors have
granted the descendants of Confucius lavish titles
and property. Here we visit magnificent Confucius’
Temple and the Confucius Mansion-home of his
families with over 500 rooms.
