Chinese Kungfu (Martial Arts)
Chinese Martial Arts, known as Chinese Kung-fu by most foreigners, is a traditional Chinese physical activity with thousands of years of history and has been practiced and developed for self-defence and survival throughout Chinese history.
A part of the Oriental Civilization, Chinese Kung-fu is effective both in battle and in building physical strength. During the Tang Dynasty (618-907 A.D.), which was one of the most powerful periods of Chinese history, warriors were actually chosen through martial competition and officers were promoted through this same sort of competition. In addition, it unites with the traditional medicine concepts of human's main and collateral channels; Qi and blood.
In modern times, Chinese Kung-fu is showcased around the world through media. The movies of Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan and Jet Lee sweep audiences off their feet and the kung fu stars themselves are idolised all around the world. Films such as "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", "Kung fu Hustle" "Hero" and "House of Flying Daggers" are among the most popular.
