Beijing Honghua International Golf Club boasts an ideal location, i.e. on the Beiyuan Road in the Asian Games Village in Chaoyang District, 1.5km to the Crown Plaze Park View Wuzhou Beijing in the south and just 1km to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games Village in the east. With an total area of 135 hectors, the Club consists of a 18-hole PGA standard course, a clubhouse, a driving range and some houses. The construction started from July 20, 2001 and the Club officially opened in April 2004.

Beijing Honghua International Golf Club is designed by Nick Faldo, the legend with 6 grand slam champions. Both the design and the construction are at the PGA standard. Faldo has designed 3 courses in southern China before and Honghua is his first one in Northern China, his only signature course. Since the land of Beijing is very flat, Honghua therefore brought in more than 2.5 million m 3 earth to create great shaping. Players have the opportunity to enjoy the interests and challenges in a world top hilly course.

Besides the typical Faldo-style green complex, Honghua is distinguished by its classic square tees and snow white bunker sand. This not only impresses all players, but also demonstrates the noble dignity of the Club. The uniqueness of Honghua comes from its greens. All greens are shaped in three levels with large floating aprons. Paying special favor to the 15th hole in Honghua, Faldo signs his name on the flag.

For irrigation, Honghua chooses the brand of Rainbird, the most advanced system in the world. Based on the Rainbird 900E, the central control computer system realizes individual control to each sprinkler to provide the best irrigation solution according to the weather and shape of land. With more than 1400 sprinklers installed in 18 holes, Honghua realizes a “wall-to-wall” irrigation coverage, another key symbol to become the world top golf clubs. There are very few golf clubs in China who can meet the requirement.

Turf is the heart of golf course. To meet the PGA requirement on green speed of 12, Honghua attends great attention to turf maintenance ever since grass type selection, combining the experience of top foreign superintendents, comments of local experts and the special weather condition in Beijing.
