National Stadium (Bird's Nest)
Beijing National Stadium, widely known as Bird’s Nest for its appearance of a network of steel girders, was the mean venue for the 29th Summer Olympics. The 91,000-seat stadium hosted the Olympics’ Opening and Closing ceremonies as well as athletic events. It owns 80,000 permanent seats and its largest capacity can reach 91,000. After the Olympic Games, the Stadium is used to stage sports events at national and international levels, as well as cultural and entertaining activities. |
