How to get to Huashan
Airport – The closest airport to Huashan is the Xianyang International Airport about 41km away from Xi'an and 140km away from the mountain. From the airport, you can take a taxi or tour bus to Hua Shan, about 2 hours away.
Bus – From the chaotic bus station at Xi'an, touts will be clawing you to get on their minibus. The ride will take about 3 to 4 hours and several buses leave for Hua Shan. It won't be first class and be warned that the bus may not leave until full contrary to promises. One-way bus fare from the Xi'an Bus station to Hua Shan is RMB35. To get back to Xi'an, there'll be minibuses parked at the foot of Hua Shan that head for a small town about 20 minutes away. From here, look for another bus (like a chartered bus) to take you back to Xi'an. Alternatively, make arrangements with China Holidays for private two-way transport. It's more comfortable and a lot less time is wasted on the waiting game.
