At an altitude of over 2,000m, the weather is pleasant all year round. But bring something warm in case you climb the highlands or feel chilly at night. Winters are a little chilly while summers bring the most visitors, this means spring and autumn are the best times to visit. Many of the cafés also provide tour and ticket buying services.

The Bangbang Festival, usually in mid-February sees horseracing and market fairs.
It's a good idea to hire a guide when hiking at Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Proper hiking equipment, enough food and water, sunglasses to prevent snow blindness and warm clothes are necessary. Be aware that night temperatures are extremely low. Binoculars are useful to view the snowy scenery. |
