Shopping and Souvenirs

Nanjing souvenirs include colorful pebbles from the Yuhuatai area in Nanjing, cloud pattern brocades which come in several types with the zhuangjin and zhijin considered the best examples. Jinling fans have been renowned since the Ming dynasty and they come in bamboo, silk and bone varieties. Swan velvet is a traditional Nanjing silk product that’s intricately woven with fine silk floss featuring flower patterns; these also come in different varieties from cushions to wall hangings.

On Hunan Lu and the area around Conscious Temple are night markets where souvenirs and antiques can be bought. From Daxing Gong to Jiankang Lu is another street packed with stores selling jewelry and souvenirs. Taiping Nan Lu is lined with stores selling gold, silver and jade jewelry. The Nanjing International Shopping Center specializes in the "scholar's four treasures", jade and replica antique furniture. It's located at 39 Tu Cheng Tou, Qinhuai District.
