The best time to visit Qingdao is in the spring and autumn when the weather is mild and the scenery is at its best. Summer is the best time for sailing, swimming and sunbathing. The sun is very strong during the summer so be sure to bring your sun block.

Lao Shan's streams will turn into raging torrents of water when it rains heavily. If you're on the mountain, find shelter immediately. Also be wary of standing on wet rocks as they can slippery.

The Qingdao International Beer Festival is held every year in the mid-August for ten days. Look for it at the Qingdao International Beer City on Xianggang Dong Lu. During the beer festival, there's lots of live entertainment and beer drinking. Tickets are about RMB 20, not including beer.
