A great way to cool off during the hot summers is to head to the Beer Festival that's held from July 8 to August 15 at Window of the World. Art connoisseurs will appreciate the Art Festival that's held in October at the Shenzhen Grand Theater.

There are many options for entering Hong Kong from Shenzhen. Many who travel to Hong Kong choose to fly to Shenzhen then cross the border on foot as it's significantly cheaper than going directly to Hong Kong. In Shenzhen, head over to the customs building at the Luohu Train Station, once through, it's a quick and easy ride on the KCR into Hong Kong. If you're taking a bus into Hong Kong then you'll go through customs at Huanggang Port. Those who land at the Shenzhen Airport can take a ferry that goes to Hong Kong Island or Kowloon, the ferry takes about an hour and tickets are RMB 180. It's a quick 10-minute bus ride to the port from the airport.
