Airport – The Tianjin Binhai International Airport is located 13km from the downtown area. Taking a taxi will cost about RMB 50, shuttle buses cost around RMB 10. There's also a shuttle bus service to Beijing's international airport for RMB 70, it operates from 6am to 5:30pm with buses leaving every 45 minutes.
Bus –The Beijing-Tianjin-Tanggu Expressway connects Tianjin to Beijing. It's only a 1.5-hour drive to Beijing on the highway. Numerous buses shuttle back and forth between Tianjin and Beijing and they leave about every 30 minutes. The number of buses thins out during the evening.
Ferry – From Tianjin's port there are three domestic routes, Dalian, Yantai and Longkou. International routes go to Inchon in the Republic of Korea and Kobe in Japan. Tickets can be arranged through your hotel or at the ferry's ticket office.
Taxi –Most cabs are small compacts and flag-fall is RMB 7.
Train –There are dozens of trains between Beijing and Tianjin. The double-decked "K" series depart about every hour or so and the trip takes around 2 hours for the trip. You can also buy your return ticket from attendants on the train. Tianjin has four stations, with Tianjin Station being the largest. |
