Egencia expands in China's online trip management market

Egencia, an affiliate of Expedia which is engaged in online business trip management services, has opened a branch in Shanghai.

 

Egencia hopes to bring its services to China by first providing offline services which are more acceptable for Chinese companies. Nathalie Duchene Guenard, customer service director for Egencia in Shanghai, says that the company can't adopt their business styles from the U.S. and Europe in the Chinese market, since compared with the United States and Europe, companies in China are more concerned with direct business management services.

 

Egencia started to provide online business trip management service to companies in the United States and Europe in 2002 and it started its business in China in November 2007 in cooperation with eLong.com.
