CNTA trains travel service providers

The China National Tourism Administration has held a meeting to train travel agencies offering Taiwan trips, asking them to follow strict guidelines on professional ethics and operation regulations.

CNTA held the meeting on March 10 when it offered training to leaders and principals of travel agencies from the 12 Chinese provinces and regions that have just been authorized to provide Taiwan travel services. The meeting also featured representatives from the tourism bureaus and Taiwan affairs office of the 12 provinces.

At the meeting, CNTA and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council asked leaders of travel agencies that organize Taiwan trips to observe professional ethics and operation regulations and to maintain a good travel market order by not offering low-priced promotions. In addition, they required the tourism administration department to strengthen their management and supervision and to severely punish those who violate the relevant policies and rules and disturb the market order.

Previously, CNTA issued a document in which it asked provinces that were approved to offer Taiwan travel services to work with the Taiwan affairs office in their provinces to offer special training to principals and staff of the relevant travel agencies.
