Malacca tourists to have chance to experience life behind bars

Tourists visiting the historic state of Malacca in Malaysia will have the chance to experience life behind bars when its prison package is ready in 2012.

The Star, a local daily, reported here on Sunday that the Prison Museum in Bandar Hilir located in the state of Malacca would offer prison outfit and meals to participants so they could live a life of imprisonment.

The daily quoted Malacca Chief Minister Mohd Ali Rustam as saying that renovation work for the purpose was expected to begin in 2010 after the new prison of 305 million ringgit (87.14 million U.S. dollars) was completed.
