Hong Kong people look forward to visiting Qinghai's Tibetan area

"Hong Kong residents are looking forward to visiting the beautiful Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China's Qinghai Province," said Ye Wenbo, director of the Hong Kong Commercial Daily Qinghai Office.

The daily, whose publication began in 1952, is a Hong Kong-based newspaper with the largest circulation on the Chinese mainland.

Ye added, "Since the Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture has appeared in my newspaper several times, it has been an old friend of mine."

Last August, the daily gave a special coverage to Haibei's charming natural scenery and culture in its Visiting China Column, prompting many Hong Kong residents to visit this distant and mystic place.

The daily also briefed the readers on the tourist resources, mineral resources, investment environment and business opportunities in Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, evoking a strong repercussion among the Hong Kong people.

Some residents even went to travel agencies with the newspaper to consult tour packages to Haibei.

Ye said, "For those like us who have lived in a big city for a long time, by traveling to Haibei we can relax both physically and in mind because of its spectacular natural beauty and primitive folk customs."

He added that the Hong Kong Commercial Daily, as a service-oriented media, will serve as a bridge between Hong Kong, Macao and the inland areas so as to make more people know and travel to Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture.
