Additional fuel surcharges from China's domestic airlines

Domestic airlines have raised fuel surcharges with effect from April 8, 2011 in response to recent increases in aviation oil prices.

Fuel surcharges for short-haul flights equal to, or less than, 800 kilometers were increased to CNY60 from the previous 50 yuan, while those for long-haul flights were increased to 110 yuan from 90 yuan.

Infants are exempted from air fares. Children, disabled servicemen, and disabled policemen will pay surcharges of 30 yuan for routes under 800 kilometers and 60 yuan on longer ones.

Domestic airlines including Air China, China Eastern Airlines, Shanghai Airlines, Sichuan Airlines, and Shenzhen Airlines have all increased their fuel surcharges. Other domestic airlines will likely raise fuel surcharges near soon.
