Day 01: Arrive in Qingdao
On arrival in Qingdao, you will be met by your guide and transfer to the hotel. Then, enjoy the tour to Zhanqiao Pier and Eight Great Passes (Badaguan). (L)
Accommodation: Century Mandarin Hotel Qingdao
Zhanqiao Pier has become a famous attraction and symbolic structure of Qingdao. In the daytime, the Pier is frequented by stream of visitors, who are leaning on the railing and overlooking the charming sea. When the night falls, the colorfully decorated lights are turned on, glorifying the bridge.
Badaguan (Eight Great Passes): Lying between Huiquan Cape and Taiping Cape, Badaguan faces the rippling Taiping Bay. In Badaguan area, more than 200 villas of exotic style are scattered among the flora and fauna. There are so many villas that the scenic spot is called a World Architecture Museum. Crossing the scenic area are ten roads built in 1931 and lined with many varieties of trees such as peaches, crabapples, pine trees and ginkgoes. Eight of the roads are named after the eight great passes of the Great Wall, and thus the area was named “Badaguan”.
Day 02: Qingdao/Mt. Laoshan/Qingdao
Half day trip to Mt. Laoshan. Facing to the Yellow Sea on two sides, this mountain spans a coastline of 87 kilometers which enhances the charming natural sceneries of Laoshan. It is noted for its Taoist culture for a long time where lots of Taoist ancient buildings still there. This afternoon visit Little Fish Hill and the May 4th Square. (B+L)
Mount Laoshan stands 3,700ft above Qingdao, said to be home to a god and a goddess who procure husbands and wives for those who come to ask for one. Enjoy rambling past rocky outcrops and waterfalls, springs of curative water, ancient Taoists temples and majestic trees.
Standing facing the sea, the Little Fish Hill Park (Xiaoyushan Park) in Qingdao w, is a classical garden-style construction combining the natural beauty, architectural techniques and artistic skills. Built on the top of the Little Fish Hill, the park commands an excellent view of the city although the hill is only 60 meters (197 feet) high.
May 4th Square is the symbol of Qingdao. It got its name in memory of the May 4th Movement which was an anti-imperialist, cultural and political movement. Located between the new municipal government building and the bay, it is composed of the Shizhengting Square, the central square and the coastal park. These three parts have their own features and the whole square is a combination of local Qingdao features and modern design.
Day 03: Qingdao
In the morning, transfer to the International Horticultural Exhibition and have a full day visiting to enjoy the beautiful view in the exposition. (B+L)
The International Horticultural Exhibition is a non-trade global exhibition organized by the government of the host country or a relevant department entrusted by the government. Different from an international trade fair, it is aimed at promoting the economic, cultural, and technology exchanges between countries around the world and their development in such fields. Every participating country may take the opportunity to show other countries what they have achieved in their own fields. Therefore, the International Horticultural Exhibition is celebrated as the “Olympics” for the economic and science and technology circles across the world.
Day 04: Qingdao
Today go ahead to visit Tsingtao Brewery Museum. Then, explore the Governor’s Office Building and Qingdao Hill Forts Park. (B+L)
Founded in 1903, Tsingtao Brewery Museum covers an area of 6,000 square meters, with the whole facade reconstructed in European classical architecture style. It consists of three parts: centenary history and culture area, production techniques area and multi-purpose area.
Governor’s Office Building was named “Governor’s Office Building” because it was built as the official residence of former German governors in the beginning of 20th century. Now it is used as the office of National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.
The park is the site of the former German fort overlooking Jiaozhou Bay. Visitors can enjoy the view of park, as well as visit the fort structure and an exhibition on the history of the German force in Qingdao.
Day 05: Qingdao
Today is free for you to explore the Qingdao city.
Day 06: Departure Qingdao
Transfer to the airport or railway station for your next destination. (B)
