The Songhua River in winter is no less bustling than a summer bathing beach. It’s frozen hard with ice nearly one meter thick, turning it into a huge playground for all kinds of ice sports. You can go skating and ice sailing or ride in ice junks or horse-drawn sleighs.

St. Sophia Church in Harbin is the largest Eastern Orthodox Church in the Far East. It is 53.3meters high and occupies an area of 721 square meters .In November 1996, it was listed as one of the Key Cultural Relics under State Protection. Half a year later, the Harbin City government repaired it and renamed it as Harbin Art Galley. It is a respectable landmark for locals and tourists.

Zhaolin Park is the first park in the city of Harbin. Located at the bank of Songhua River and the northern end of Zhaolin Street. The Ice Festival and Ice Lantern Show which are renowned at home and abroad are held every winter here. When the night falls, the ice lanterns in the park combine light, sound and action in one resplendence with a great variety of colors.
