Day 01: Arrive Kunming
Arrive in Kunming, meet at the airport and transfer to the hotel for two nights stay.(D)

Day 02: Kunming/Yuanyang (360km, about 6-hour drive)
Morning drive to Yuanyang, upon arrival, check in the hotel first, and then you will climb up to Laohuzui (Tiger Mouth Pass), for a splendid view of terrace in the sunset. Clothed in clouds and mist, such a tremendous number of terraces are fantastic, “a real sculpture of the earth”, so named by anthropologists.(B+L+D)

Day 03: Yuanyang
Morning, a visit will be made to the terraced fields at Duoyishu and Bada (23km, about 1-hour drive). On 22nd June 2013, the terraced fields were approved and listed by the UN World Heritage Committee as the World Cultural Heritage Site offered by China. After lunch, drive to Jingkou Hani Ethnic Village. The Hani people are one of the earliest rice-cultivating ethnic groups in China. Hani Ethnic villages are usually built by the slopes with lush forest, abundant water and fertile field. Hani villages are considered to be one of the most beautiful minority villages in China. On the way to the village, you can see terrace on each side of the road, and very cute houses, which look like mushrooms, so they are called “mushroom house”.(B+L+D)


Day 04: Yuanyang/Jianshui (150km, about 3-hour drive)
After breakfast, car transfer to Jianshui, on arrival, check in the hotel, then pay a visit to Zhu Family’s Garden which is a group of splendid residential quarters built in the Qing dynasty, known as a “ Grand View Garden in a border town”, and Zhang Family’s Garden, which has currently 237 households and over 90 percent still bear a common family name of Zhang. A dozen of old residences still survive the Cultural Revolution in the1970’s and fine works of wood carving and stone carving can be found all over the village.(B+L+D)

Day 05: Jianshui
Morning visit the Swallow Cave, which is famous for its unique scenery like “ancient grottos and marvelous spectacle; spring swallow converging; suspended horizontal tablet of stalactite, and stunt of picking the swallow’s nest”. In the afternoon, visit the Confucius Temple, which was built in 1258AD. The Jianshui Confucius Temple is the second largest one next to that in Qufu, Shandong Province. It provides valuable historical data for the study of Confucianism, ancient Imperial Examination System as well as traditional Chinese architecture. (B+L+D)


Day 06: Jianshui/Kunming (280km, about 5-hour drive)
Morning car transfer back to Kunming. On arrival, a visit will be made to the Stone Forest Scenic Area, a UNESCO geological park situated 78km away from Kunming. As the most typical karst landform in the world, the site is called “the first mysterious scene in the world”. One night stay in Kunming.(B+L+D)

Day 07: Departure Kunming
Today you will be met and transferred to the airport for your departure flight.(B)
