Day 1: Beijing/Xiamen
In the morning you are picked up from your Beijing hotel and transferred to airport to catch the flight to Xiamen (known as Amoy in the West). Upon arrival be met by our guide & driver. You are transferred to your hotel and the rest of the day is free for you to explore the city.
Day 2: Xiamen
The whole day trip begins with a visit to Hulishan Fortress. Have a view of the ancient military relics, such as emplacement, barracks, castle, trench and firelocks. Then head for South Putuo Temple. Move on to Jimei School Village and Kah-kee Park. View various kinds of schools in the gentle sea breeze. Transfer back to your hotel. ( B+L )
Located in the southwest of Xiaman, Hulishan Fortress was built in 1891. The architecture in there are mainly integrated the style in Ming and Qing Dynasty and the style from Europe. The most famous cannons in Hulishan Fortress are the biggest and smallest cannons in the world.
As one of the most important and famous temple in Xiamen, South Putuo temple is located at the foot of Wulao Peak. There is a rich collection of Buddhist cultural relics in the temple, such as a Burmese jade carving of the Buddha, some important Buddhist texts. The well-preserved religious architectures are also an ideal choice for the travelers.
Obtaining a good reputation oversea, Jimei School village was built by Mr. Tan Kah-kee in 1913. It gains the name as a place that collects all the beauties under heaven. It has a modern educational system from preschool to higher education with ten thousands of staff and students and 12 schools covering hundreds of thousands of square meters area.
Located at the north side of Turtle Garden, Kah-kee Park is a full display of the architectural style of Mr. Tan Kah-kee. Walking in the park, travelers could appreciate the traditional architectures, such as halls, pavilions and ponds. Mr. Tan Kah-kee’s contribution to education also fully demonstrates in the park.
Day 3: Xiamen
Take a ferry to Gulangyu which is regarded as an architecture museum. Catch a glimpse of the exotic buildings relaxing in the bright sunshine and fresh air. Climb to Sunlight Rock, the highest point of the Island, to have a panoramic view of the picturesque island. Go to Shuzhuang Garden which is sandwiched between ocean and cliff. Transfer back to your hotel. ( B+L )
Lies in the southwestern of Xiamen, Gulangyu is famous for the highest piano ownership in China and many famous pianists. The buildings on the island have a rich exotic features and visitors could appreciate different countries’ architectures without going out of island. The cozy and relaxing lifestyle on the island also attracts lots of people.
As the highest point of Gulangyu Island, Sunlight Rock has a height of around 93 meters. It gets the name because General Zheng Chenggong caught a glimpse of the bright sunshine there. Reaching the top, visitors could have a panoramic view of the whole island, the sea nearby.
Shuzhuang Garden was built around 1900 by Lin Erjia as a private villa. In the garden, visitors could admire the traditional Chinese garden like pavilions, bridges, lakes, towers and hills. The unique Piano Museum in the garden displays a full display of various kinds of pianos in the world.
Morning pick up at hotel and transfer to airport to catch the flight to Wuyishan. Upon arrival be met by our guide & driver. Have the whole day trip to the world natural and cultural heritage Mount Wuyi. Go downstream the Jiuqu River on the bamboo raft, appreciating the significant sceneries and plants along the river. Transfer back to your hotel. ( B+L )
Mount Wuyi is located in the northeast of Fujian, connecting Fujian Province and Jiangxi Province and covering the area of ten thousands sq.km. It has been listed as the Natural and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. The scenery in Wuyi Mountain is surprisingly amazing and spectacular and the cultural relics also attract lots of travelers.
Day 5: Wuyishan/Beijing
Continue the exploring of Wuyishan. Reach the Tianyou Peak to get a panoramic view of the green mountains and clear Jiuqu River nearby. Weather permitting; visitors could also view the amazing sunrise and sea of clouds. Transfer to the airport after visiting and fly back to Beijing. Transfer back to your hotel in Beijing.
