Bird Watching Tour - Sichuan Province

 

'A total of around 1,300 bird species have been recorded in China with over 600 of them reported in Sichuan, there is also a considerable number which are unique to China, 25 of them are more or less confined to Sichuan.'

London / Beijing / Chengdu

Make your own way to London Heathrow for your, over night flight to Chengdu via Beijing on Air China .

Chengdu

On arrival in Chengdu you will be met by our local guide who will take you to your hotel where you will be staying for the night. D

Chengdu / Mount Emei

After breakfast you will be taken by car to Mount Emei on arrival you will visit the Fuhu   Temple where you will see the abundance of birds in the forest that surrounds the temple. After lunch You will take a walk to Baoguo Temple seeing the Museum of Mount Emei before making your way to your hotel. B/L/D

Emeishan Hotel

Mount Emei / Chengdu

After an early start you will visit the Wannian Temple by cable car . After lunch, make your way down to the bottom of the mountain where you will be met and transferred back to Chengdu where you will spend the night. B/L/D

Chengdu / Tangjiahe

After breakfast you will take the car transfer to Tangjiahe Nature Reserve on route stopping at Mianyang for a picnic lunch before continuing to Tangjiahe to see the birds at dusk. You will be staying in Tangjiahe for 2 nights. B/L/D

TangJiahe Reserve Training Centre Hotel

Tangjiahe

After an early breakfast, make your way into the nature reserve to spend the day watching the birds in the wild, a picnic lunch will be provided.

Tangjiahe / Jiuzhaigou

After an early breakfast, take the bus to Jiuzhaigou where you will arrive in the early evening. You will be staying here for 2 nights.

Xinjiuzhaigou Hotel

Jiuzhaigou

After an early breakfast set off for Jiuzhaigzhou National Park to watch birds the whole day. Lunch will be taken in a restaurant in the park. In the evening you will be taken back to your hotel. B/L/D

Jiuzhaigou / Chuanzhu

In the morning make your way to Hua nglong passing through Chuanzhu ; Hua nglong where you stop for a late lunch and take in the fantastic calcified scenery and the bird life. You will then continue on to Chuanzhu here you can observe the birds in and around the town. You will be staying here for 1 night. B/L/D

 

Minjiangyuan Hotel

Chuanzhu / Wolong

Head for Wolong nature reserve to see the Giant Panda and watch the birds around Shanwan in the afternoon. Spending the night in Wolong. B/L/D

 

Xiongmao Shanzhuang

Wolong / Chengdu

Take an early breakfast and then set off to Wuyipeng at 07:00 to watch the birds. Have a picnic lunch and then transfer back to Chengdu where you will be staying for one night, the afternoon and evening spent at your leisure. B/L

4* Tibet Hotel

Chengdu / London

After breakfast you will be transferred from your hotel for your day flight back to London via Beijing on Air China . B
