Harbin is the capital city of the Heilongjiang Province which is the most north-easterly part of China and borders Russia. During the long cold winter months the temperature can drop down to as low as -22°F (-30°C). Snow carvings, ice lanterns, fireworks display and snow recreations make Harbin one of China's most popular winter destinations. Skiing and ice sliding are popular activities. More amazing is winter swimming in the Songhua River, not for the faint of heart.
The Harbin International Ice Festival is one of world's four largest international ice festivals, along with Japan's Sapporo Snow Festival, Canada's Quebec Winter Carnival, and Norway's Ski Festival. It starts annually on January 5 and lasts for over one month. During this period, people throughout the world take part in the various artist, cultural, athletic and tourist events. The 27th Harbin Ice and Snow Festival will start on January 5, 2011. It is a great winter festival and if you are in China during this period, it really should not be missed.

how long would that take and cost. Also can you forward pictures of close

Would like to visit the Ice Festival January 2011 and also Beijing (Forbidden City, Great Wall, Summer Palace) Xian (Terracotta Warriors) and Guillin (boat trip optional) Could you please inform us if this is possible and approximate costs.
I have just returned from the Harbin Ice and Snow World. It was a fabulous sight and I will probably go again next year. One thing missing was a layout of the displays in English. The only display board I saw on site was in Chinese.
Would it be possible to get a diagram of the displays in English?
Many thanks Roy Bonning. Gold Coast. Australia.

Hello,
We are planning a trip to Harbin Ice Festival in january-february 2010, now i would like to know if You can arrange it for us?
thinking of staying 3-4- days in Harbin, any suggestions what else to visit when in China?
Awaiting Your reply
the ice and snow festival is million pretty, hope stay here long time.
Harbin is a really really nice city. Has a 100 years history it was booming with the construction of a railway. Beautiful city I liked the St Sofia Church and Central Street where you felt like walking back to the history. Sun Island is fantastic which reminded lots about Hyde Park in London although The Sun Island is much bigger and ideally has a huge area of everglade which is getting rarely seen in China. Poeple are very friendly and cultured. Always so warm and helpful when I asked them about the bus stops or the road.
The dogs are for pulling the sledge.
What are the dogs for?
