Inner Mongolia is an Autonomous Region within China and one that is still considered to be remote. Just the name Mongolia conjures up visions of Genghis Khan riding across the grasslands into the sunset. With the upper valley of the yellow river running through this region it has very varied scenery. From the mountains of Yin-Shan and Wulaer Shan to the grassland plateau of Xilamuren this is an area of contrasting scenery. This tour is a brief introduction to the area, our suggested itinerary gives a glimpse of the highlights. In a similar way to our tours along the Silk Road touring in Inner Mongolia is an experience very different from the busy cities of China with their 5* hotels and shopping centres. Here you will have time to meet with the local population and gain an understanding of the development of this region over its long history.
Naadam is a traditional festival in Inner Mongolia, which is held annually between July and August. Activities include Mongolian wrestling, horse racing and archery. Nadam Fair is also the trade fair for farm products, such as mutton, beef, cheese, butter, and yogurt.

Can we stay in local residents' 'special house' for night? I learned that their houses are quite different.
Is it true that people on the grasslands are still as friendly as in the past? Do they welcome visitors? Don't they think tourism will have bad influence on its traditional culture? In many countries, ethnic group don't like travellers.
The Mongolia Grasslands is amazing. Have never seen a land so vast, extending infinitely to the horizon...it's comfortable and soothing...
